My Journey as a Tech PR Intern
When one is offered the opportunity to intern for an award-winning technology public relations firm, they don’t even think twice, right? If you ask me, the answer is yes. This is why I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the Tech Image team.
Understand this is only my first week here and I am still making the transition from a college lifestyle to a more professional one. I loved college, and when I say that, it’s almost an understatement. Whether it was having a few beers with my buddies, eating late-night pizza or waking up at noon, college provided me with all the opportunities to live an easy, lackadaisical lifestyle. I took full advantage of that, but I knew eventually this time would come to an end. However, the transition would be easier than I thought.
Rise and Shine...
Never have I woken up at 7AM and felt so energized. I’ve found myself passionate and excited about coming in to the office to start my day. Even though it has only been three days since I began interning, I can tell that this experience is going to stick with me for the rest of my life and professional career.
Already, Tech Image and its staff have impressed me with their incredible amount of knowledge and professionalism in the PR world. These people live, eat and breathe public relations, and they are pretty darned good at it too. Not only are they PR experts, but (believe it or not) they are kind, understanding human beings as well. I’ve never felt so welcome coming in to a new environment. The people here are just flat out genuine and sincere. It’s not that they are willing to help, they want to help.
I emphasize Tech Image’s compassion and willingness to help because I am still getting acclimated to the PR world. These people have made it so easy and comfortable for me to learn in an often fast-paced environment. In my short time here, I’ve already gained more knowledge than I could have ever imagined.
It All Comes Together
It’s been interesting seeing the daily goings-on of the firm and how it helps businesses flourish in an often tough economy. Already, I’ve noticed a connection of my time at a financial firm to my time now at Tech Image. We help our clients grow their business, analyzing various business models and cost efficiencies. We specifically project what our services will do for their business and how we can help them. It’s almost as if we’re giving financial analysis of our services and this is something that I enjoy.
I do realize that I still have a lot to learn, as this is only my first week. However, I hope to continue to grow as a PR professional and continue my positive internship experience here at Tech Image!
